Common questions
Things people ask before installing.
Do I really not need a Google Maps API key?+
Really. Modern Maps ships with vector tiles attributed to OpenStreetMap. No Google Cloud console, no billing alerts, no usage caps. The free plugin works the moment you activate it.
Does a license add paid controls to the free plugin?+
No. The currently available Modern Maps Pro 0.1.8 is a separate, standalone plugin. A license does not add paid controls to maps made with the free Modern Maps plugin. See the paid plans on the pricing page for the current offer.
What about page speed?+
Modern Maps is built to be lightweight: no jQuery, vector tiles instead of heavy iframe embeds, and maps lazy-load below the fold. Formal Lighthouse benchmarks coming once the plugin is in production use.
Can I use it on client sites?+
Yes, that’s what the Professional and Agency plans are for. Five sites on Professional, twenty-five on Agency. Activations stay private: no third-party usage tracking, no analytics phone-home.
How do I get a refund?+
Email support@modernmapswp.com within 14 days and we’ll work it out. The free version stays installed and keeps working regardless.
